Tarphagevej 2, 6710 Esbjerg V
The Fisheries and Maritime Museum was the city’s gift to itself to mark the one-hundredth anniversary of Esbjerg harbour and Esbjerg city in 1968.
At the Fisheries and Maritime Museum experiences are waiting in line, from the moment you arrive. Exhibitions include various perspectives on the nearby sea – people’s relationship with it, the culture surrounding it, and life beneath its surface. The Wadden seawater supplied “Saltwater Aquarium” and the “Sealarium”, where common seals and grey seals are trained and fed daily, have remained tourist attractions for decades. The latest exhibition addition is the “Energy from the Sea – Danish Offshore in the North Sea”, where museum guests can explore the production of oil, gas and wind power.
